1. How long does the Greek citizenship process take?
The timeline varies depending on the complexity of your family records. A simple registration can take 1-6 months, while a "Determination of Citizenship" involving older archival searches may take 18–24 months.
2. Will I have to serve in the Greek Military?
Male citizens aged 18–45 living abroad are generally eligible for a "Permanent Resident Abroad Certificate." This allows you to visit Greece for up to 6 months per year without military obligations. We specialize in securing these exemptions for our clients.
3. Do I need to speak Greek to apply for citizenship?
If you are applying via Registration or Determination, there is no language requirement. Language and history tests are generally only required for "Naturalization" (residents with no Greek heritage).
4. Can my spouse optain Greek Citizenhsip?
A spouse does not automatically receive citizenship. However, they can obtain a Residence Permit to live and work in the EU, or apply via naturalization.
